Tour’s Program

Join this tour along Iceland's south coast to discover the stunning unique natural Blue Ice cave, glaciers, lava fields, volcanoes, strong rivers and magic waterfalls.

After being picked up in Reykjavik in the morning, your next two days will be an unforgettable adventure exploring the many amazing natural wonders of the South Coast of Iceland.

On the first day, visits to the famous waterfalls, Seljalandsfoss and Skogafoss are amongst the highlights but you also visit the less known but no less beautiful waterfalls of Gljufrabui, Kvernufoss and Irafoss. The black sand beach of Reynisfjara with its amazing surrounding area completes this exiting day.

After a good rest, your adventure continues the second day where you will visit the beautiful Skaftafell and walk on the Diamond Beach, an amazing black beach scattered with icebergs, next to Jökulsárlón glacier lagoon. The stunning Jökulsárlón glacier lagoon is where huge icebergs float in ice cold water and seals swim around them.

The highlight of the tour is a visit to a natural ice cave in Vatnajökull, Iceland’s largest glacier. The ice in the cave is spectacularly blue and is a very popular attraction.

If you want to enjoy the Icelandic nature to the fullest and to witness one of Iceland's most incredible natural phenomenon, then you should book this tour now as availability is very limited.

Setting out from Reykjavík, you will drive along route 1 passing through small towns and enjoying the beauty of the Icelandic countryside. Your first stop will be at the famous Seljalandsfoss waterfall, which is located beneath the Eyjafjallajokull volcano. Remember to ask your tour guide all about the colossal eruption back in 2010. Close by is the beautiful but less known waterfall Gljufrabui.
Next up is the stunning Skogafoss, a drop of 60 m (200ft) of natural raw power that must be seen to be believed. You will then have the additional pleasure of visiting the secret waterfalls of Kvernufoss and Írafoss.
Then it is on to Reynisfjara, a black sand beach nestling under Mt. Reynisfjall - seasonal home to numerous puffins that dive from its cliffs out to sea. Black basalt has been shaped into amazing different formations, most notably the famous Reynisdrangar. Beware the might of the Atlantic Ocean which looms with its powerful waves.
At the end of the day, your accommodation awaits in Seljaland, a lovely country guesthouse located in a beautiful spot close to Seljalandsfoss. On the way there and during the night, we will look out for the Northern Lights if conditions are favourable to see them.
Today, you set off in the morning for a totally unique experience. A visit to a natural stunning Blue Ice cave will be the highlight of the day. After a drive through the lovely village of Vik, you stop at the Skaftafell national park where the amazing views will take your breath away!
You then continue to the Jökulsárlón glacier lagoon. This famous lagoon is filled with huge chunks of ice that have cracked off Breiðamerkurjökull glacier and float slowly out to sea. Some icebergs wash on shore, lying on the vivid black sand like diamonds on satin and from there, your Ice cave adventure will begin.
The ice caves only form in the winter when glacial water freezes to create this unique natural phenomenon. Each season, the local glacier experts find the best caves to visit in an enjoyable and safe way. From the glacier lagoon, they drive you through the best of Icelandic highlands in a special Super Jeep to the ice cave. There you will have about an hour to explore and enjoy the magical blue caves. Please do not forget to bring your camera!
After this unforgettable adventure, you drive back to the Jokulsarlon where you join the bus again to head back to Reykjavik. On the way back, you will of course be able to enjoy the beautiful nature of the South Coast and to make a quick stop in Vik village for some refreshments, while keeping an eye out for the Northern lights if conditions are right.

2 day tour to Jokulsarlon and South Coast Waterfalls

Our tour to South Beaches, Jokulsarlon was spectacular. Our guide Antonio Perez and our driver David were very kind, informative, helpful and dynamic. The accommodations were cozy, clean and comfortable. The views of the landscapes, falls and countryside are breathtaking. I totally recommend this tour!

Had an amazing experience! The landscape and sights of Iceland is amazing! Would definitely recommend this tour. Our guide Thomas was patient and pretty humorous which made for a rather entertaining trip. He also brought us on an adventure to a secret waterfall which was well worth the trip. We thoroughly enjoyed the ice cave experience and the glacier lagoon. They were so breathtaking! Accommodation was cozy and clean. The two pitstops for lunch were also pretty good. One of which had an amazing backdrop of a waterfall. Would definitely want to visit again!

We saw the most spectacular scenes during this 2 days tour. Our guide David is very very gentle and knowledgeable person. He makes sure we were on schedule. Our van had 13 ladies, sometimes we took lots of pictures and running out of time. David was always very kindly pushing us and patient.During the evening we stayed in hostel, very clean and cozy. According to the report we would be able to see the northern light. So our guide David was waiting outside to check and informs us. We were very lucky to capture the northern light. The second night on our way home, there was a huge northern light explosion. So we stopped and take pictures for an additional 30 minutes at least.

It was the greatest journey we have in Iceland! Wonderful and magnificent views!Thank you so much Antonio Perez and the driver (oops I forgotten how to spell his name) from Poland for brought us to see so many stunning spots. Thanks god we have you as our tour guide !!!We're greatly appreciated !!nicetravel.is do not lose out Antonio Perez!! He is truly Gems to your good company! He is gifted and talented on what he did best!!Thanks once again through out the 2 days tour!

What a wonderful trip during this 2 days tour. So many beautiful places. We were lucky to have Antonio as our guide. A really great men, friendly and so helpful, sharing his passion and experience. Hope to come back so much

I really enjoyed this tour. It was unforgettable moment in my life. Finding hidden waterfalls was super exciting and wonderful experience and the scenery was magnificent. The tour guide, Antonio was passionate, funny, and friendly. He is definitely a great tour guide so you can trust him. I love all the attractions we visited and the experience I had. I already miss them so much!

We did have a wonderful experience in this 2 day tour, highly recommend :) Our guide, Antonio, is really professional, kind, and always fulls of passion!! He introduced us lots of histories and stories, the most important thing is that he knows lots amazing views and how to take perfect photos XD Really had a great time in iceland!!

This tour was fantastic. It was a small group tour which allowed a more flexible schedule and personal attention from the tour guide. Our guide Antonio who was professional, knowledgeable, passionate, friendly and helpful. We asked him about Aurora and he shared lots of useful information with us even we didn't have chance to see it during the trip. We did had a great experience within 2 days. Thanks Antonio for creating such best memory for us. I will definitely recommend this tour to my friends!

This was a fantastic tour!! I'm so glad we went with this tour company over one that packs a bus with 40+ people. We had a small group of 11 people that allowed for a more relaxed schedule and personal attention from the guide. Speaking of - our guide, Lou, was absolutely incredible. She was knowledgeable, funny, friendly, accommodating, and extremely helpful. It turns out that I'm not the person you want next to you when hiking on ice, and Lou literally held my hand and helped me through it. We also got to see some spots that aren't shown on most other tours. Our driver, David, was also great. The hostel was very nice as well. I was expected shared bathrooms, but we had our own bathroom and shower. Our window offered a great view of the light show as well. We were fortunate enough to see a great display of dancing, colorful lights. We were also able to go into the ice cave, which apparently was not the case for others groups last months.I cannot recommend this tour enough. Book it - you won't regret it!

Great tour! Day 1 has the first few stops hitting a high amount of foot traffic with other tour groups visiting the same spots, but the secret waterfall stop made up for that in spades, great little find!!! The nights stay at the NiceHostel was great, cosy little place with complimentary soup and breakfast (although, a small negative here is that it's in Seljaland, the opposite direction to the next day's activities at Vantajokull, which means a lot of travel time on the next day). There were areas close by that night without cloud cover, but we weren't offered a northern lights hunt, possibly due to other factors. Day 2 kicked off with some fantastic weather, and made for some AMAZING vistas of the glaciers, lagoon and diamond beach. We were extremely lucky to have the ice caves open, though could only go in about 10m due to the high water. Spectacular nonetheless. The super-van driver was very entertaining, taking us on a spin ON the glacier in the van. All in all, our tour driver and guide were fantastically knowledgable and enthusiastic, making the most of the tour despite the weather conditions, and the tour was kept on schedule throughout the duration. Waterproof attire is a MUST to enjoy yourself, top and bottom. We saw many absolutely miserable people soaked to the bone wearing jeans and sneakers and similar inappropriate gear. Five Star experience.
